Pretty sure the script Parasyte: The Grey was written as an original story, so only the screenwriter or the original Parasyte manga author would know (assuming they consulted him).
Seems like this will have a bunch of changes from the source, including a female proatgonist. We'll see if they do a good job.

I prefer Parasyte, due to the Kiseijuu vs Kiseijū spelling issue. However, the loss of SEO probably isn't worth it.
FYI, the parasyte.fandom.com is technically available as the SPanis wiki doesn't show up unless you do parasyte.fandom.com/es/.
I finally got around to watching it on Crunchyroll... I don't know why it doesn't get mentioned more frequently as one of the must see anime titles.
