A Little Family 2 (小さな家族 (2), Chīsana Kazoku (2)) is the 43rd chapter of the Parasyte manga series, written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki.
Overview[]
Kusano and Reiko discuss their recent failures, and come to an impasse towards what to do next. At the police station Kuramori is encouraged to disclose the information he has on the Parasites. Though reluctant at first, after a brief talk with Hirama, he agrees to do so. Later at her home, Reiko feeds her child, wondering why her kind were born.
Summary[]
In a private meeting with Reiko and the parasite ordered to kill Kuramori, Kusano expresses rage at their team having failed to kill either target. After Reiko praises Kusano's skill at expressing anger, he berates her for her plans having caused this, while she tells him that their murder of Kuramori's family has caused the detective to become their enemy due to the nature of humans. Kusano begins to suspect Reiko of no longer being their ally due to her different way of thinking.
In the Fukuyama police headquarters, the officers attempt to get a statement from Kuramori, who is depressed and nearly catatonic. He has flashbacks of past events including memories of Abe, his wife and daughter, the dying parasite he'd witnessed, and Shinichi's urging for him to continue his work. Remembering Shinichi's recommendation of Hirama, Kuramori finally responds to asks for the man. When asked if it was parasites that killed his family, he screams.
Shinichi is shown to be absent from school. Kamijou spots Satomi peeking into his classroom, and later gives her Shinichi's to take to his house to try to get them to reconcile. Satomi wonders why Shinichi has been so secretive and if something has happened to his parents since he no longer talks about them. She wonders where and how he is.
At the police station, Hirama arrives to speak with Kuramori and tells him they can get revenge for the deaths of his family. In response, he says that he had someone giving him info and asks for paper and a pen to write it down, as well as somewhere to stay at, and they move him to a hotel.
Alone, Kusano decides that Reiko is dangerous to all parasites.
While breastfeeding her child, Reiko muses on how strange the world is and why the parasites exist.
