Migi (ミギー, Migī) is the 58th chapter of the Parasyte manga series, written and illustrated by Hitoshi Iwaaki.
Overview[]
Shinichi and Migi run into the forest and begin formulating a plan. After separating from Shinichi, and spreading himself in multiple directions, Migi calls for the attack. Shinichi throws a flaming spear at Gotou, while Migi goes for the head. After failing, Migi holds Gotou off, so Shinichi can escape. As Migi watches Shinichi run away, he begins thinking about how he's glad he never took over his brain, all while he himself begins to shrivel and die.
Summary[]
Peering down from the manufactured car accident, Migi decides that Gotou is still alive. and tells Shinichi to run into the woods. The two begin to strategize, and Migi decides the best way to deal with their opponent is to split up.
Detecting Migi in the trees above him, Gotou ponders what they're planning. Elsewhere, Shinichi hides, armed with a wooden spear that he lights on fire but without Migi. Gotou walks right past him, leaping into the treas and slashing wildly in an attempt to find Shinichi. Migi thinks about their plan to bypass Gotou's armor by decapitating him, wishing he had done so with Miki.
On cue, Migi yells with Shinichi's voice, distracting Gotou. Shinichi hurls the flaming spear into his leg, causing him to fall off-balance, and Migi takes the opportunity to cut off his head. However, because Gotou remained connected, the armor stays intact and Migi is unable to kill him. Shinichi tries to get Migi to reconnect, but Migi refuses in order to distract Gotou from killing him. Gotou lashes out and manages to leave a large wound on Shinichi's head. He finally flees, Migi internally making his goodbyes to Shinichi as he withers away from the lack of blood. He reveals that he's glad he didn't take the brain and that they became friends.
Gotou slowly reconnects to his host body.
Shinichi continues running and eventually falls into a river, sobbing as he clutches his missing arm.
